Mary Louise Kennedy, a native of Sunny South, Alabama and a resident of Thomasville, Alabama, relinquished her earthly home for her Heavenly home on January 1, 2021 at her residence with her daughter by her side. Mary was born on October 1, 1938. Her father was the late Sim Lassiter and she was reared by her grandmother, the late Geneva Zimmerman. She was a member of Cook's Valley Baptist Church of Sunny South, Alabama for many years and later united with New Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of Lower Peachtree, Alabama and subsequently frequented Clarke Street Baptist Church in Thomasville, Alabama until her health prevented her.
Mary was an avid church goer who loved singing, and cooking. She was a very compassionate, personable woman with a giving spirit.
Preceding her in death are: her husband Calvin Kennedy, Sr., a daughter Linda Kennedy-Sams, and her three siblings.
Those who are profoundly deprived of her passing include: an immensely devoted daughter, Clara (Grady) McMillian of Thomasville, AL. Two devoted sons Calvin Kennedy, Jr. (Immensely Devoted), of Thomasville, AL and Alvin James (Geraldine) Kennedy of Dickinson, AL. Nine grandchildren, one devoted, Aaliyah McMillian of Thomasville, AL. Eight great-grandchildren; a close cousin, Elizabeth King, of Thomasville, AL, with a how of other relatives and friends.
Public visitation will be Saturday morning, January 9, 2021 from 8am to 10am at Thomasville Memorial Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be Saturday, January 9th at the Airmount Church Cemetery in Thomasville, Alabama with Minister Grady McMillian, Sr. eulogizing.
