Alonzo Stallworth was born August 29, 1938 to the late Clarence Stallworth Sr. and the late Corine Loftin Stallworth. Alonzo confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at the New Hope No. 1 Baptist Church of Thomasville, AL. After graduating high school he attended Alabama State University in Montgomery, AL on a football scholarship. He then moved to New York and was employed with Con Edison Electrical Company for many years. After retiring, he relocated back to Thomasville and joined the Sunflower AOH Church. One of his most proudest moments was becoming a ordained Deacon. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge 128.
His favorite scriptures were of 23rd Psalm.
Deacon Stallworth leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Ellen Woods-Stallworth; three sons Victor (Rose) Morrissette, Telvis Stallworth, and Rodney (Kenya) Woods; one sister Vera Kelly; six grandchildren Rodrick Morrissette, Victor (Charlene) Morrissette, Erica (Anthony) McClain, Deondra Morrissette, Rodney Woods, Jr, and Destiny Woods; two sisters-in-law Mary A. Jenkins and Clara Woods; two brothers-in-law Gerald (Wylene) Woods and Barney (Beverly) Woods. A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends
Graveside Service will be held August 1, 2020 at New Hope No. 2 Baptist Church Cemetery at 10 a.m.
